ABOUT US
Christianity has often been
wrongfully (yet understandably) misrepresented as
a religion, and not as an honest group of
imperfect people who desire to love the world as
Christ loved it.
The Rock Community Church
strives to be that honest group of people who love
their community as Christ loves it.
Demonstrating a committed
relationship with God requires loving the
community as it is--without condemnation or
pointing finger, and without the static of
religion. God loves people so much that He laid
down His life, through His Son Jesus, in order to
give us life. Therefore it is one of our most
important priorities to help people achieve a
committed relationship with God by being real
about His love for them.
God's plan is for us to actively
and regularly use that which we have learned to
bring others to a committed relationship with
Jesus. This is accomplished by becoming
accessible and meeting the needs of the people who
are hurting in the community.
The next step is to restore
broken lives. Romans 3:23 tells us that we all
are broken because of our sinful nature. Our role
is to be compliant toward God's instruction in
helping people become whole so they can move
forward in their relationship with Jesus.
Preparing people for maturity in
Christ and for ministry is a deliberate effort
taken by The Rock to help people become imitators
of Christ--doing what He did and asks us to do.
This is a process that God calls all Christians to
be actively involved in for the rest of their
lives.
We desire to bring our community
and all communities to the truth of God's love and
the gift of eternal life and the eternity of
heaven above.
